About me and the show
My interest in government and politics came to the fore right after my university education. I had always been keenly interested in why countries around the world seem to face a lot of problems, yet there appears to be no headway. There have been countless debates on faulty leadership, lack of proper structure or restructuring, media issues, economic and social challenges, foreign policy concerns, and the like. Yet, the problems don’t seem to be abating. Which way should we go? What are we doing wrong?
On The Backstory with Omobola Stephen, as a podcaster, my guests and I are on a mission to have disruptive conversations as we analyze government, policy, and leadership. We engage in debates about development, international relations, and the political economy of globalization and global governance. Our goal is to conduct comparative analyses of political systems operating in different countries around the world and critically assess the ideas and ideologies shaping contemporary visions of just societies.
